Biclorama Projects – Saddle Up for Tomorrow!
Since its relaunch, Biclorama – the little bike house, led by the Chalabre Cycling Club (CCC), has been multiplying initiatives to make cycling a tool for social connection, health, sustainable mobility, and local culture. In Chalabre and the surrounding area, the association is driving a strong collective dynamic through concrete, inclusive, and intergenerational projects. Here’s an overview of current initiatives and future avenues.

🔧 1. Spin Doctor – Repair, Learn, Share
Our bike repair program is divided into two parts:
The Saturday morning stand at the Chalabre market offers free-price repairs and a local service open to all.
Participatory workshops, often hosted at the Eckco third-place, allow you to learn bike mechanics in a spirit of sharing knowledge and self-reliance.
🚲 2. The Bike School – Regaining Confidence, One Pedal at a Time
Biclorama offers cycling learning or relearning sessions for young and old, beginners, seniors, and people in vulnerable situations. The goal: independent travel, health, and self-confidence.
❤️ 3. The Biclos for Aging Well – Cycling for Seniors
A flagship project for 2025, this program aims to break the isolation of older people by offering:
Electric tricycle rides for residents of the Chalabre nursing home,
Guided rides to medical or cultural appointments,
Intergenerational connections through the involvement of young ambassadors, particularly from the local school.
♻️ 4. Bicycle & Reuse Sector – Getting Abandoned Bikes Back on the Road
Through the collection, repair, and resale of used bikes, Biclorama is establishing a community-based reuse sector. The goal is to offer bikes at low prices, recycle parts, and limit waste.
🌿 5. Bike Rides and Hikes – For All Levels
The CCC-Biclorama regularly organizes bike rides:
On roads or greenways (Thursdays and Sundays),
Countryside rides accessible to all,
Participation in regional events (Greenway Roundabout, Velothon, etc.).
🧭 6. The Bicycle House – A Future Resource Center
The association is actively looking for a permanent location in Chalabre to set up a Bicycle House open to all. This space would house:
A permanent bike workshop,
Spaces for discussion, training, and welcoming visiting cyclists,
A cultural and festive program centered around cycling.
💬 7. Education, culture, solidarity – Emerging projects
Among the avenues for development:
School and extracurricular projects centered around cycling (safety and environmental education),
Cultural events: bike cinema, meetings, exhibitions,
A Biclorama platform to share information, local maps, tutorials, and services.
